The Link Group is delighted to be one of the members of the successful Consortium which will, in partnership with local people and Glasgow City Council, recreate Oatlands for the 21st Century as a high quality neighbourhood in the City of Glasgow.
It is intended that around 1,250 new homes for sale and rent will be provided within a revitalised and new parkland and river location. The proposals will make full use of the setting of Richmond Park. It will also involve the downgrading of Rutherglen Road which disrupts the heart of the community. This will be relocated to form a southern boundary of the new community and create new and welcome relief from intrusion by adjacent industrial uses.
From inside this new road alignment to the south and the River Clyde to the north, a new Oatlands will emerge.
The Council and the local community have presented a unique opportunity to create an Oatlands which will not only offer a wonderful environment in which to live and play but an Oatlands which will build on the successes of the regeneration of the Gorbals to the west, and Glasgow Green - a walk across the Clyde - to the north.
Together with our fellow Consortium members (Bett, Cala and Morrison), we will invest over £100m in Oatlands over the next 10 years in:
