Link Housing Association and its partners in Hillhouse, Hamilton celebrated the opening of its re-located local office at 102 Comrie Crescent, one part of a comprehensive Management Plan to improve services to - and the quality of life for - residents in the area.
Link is working closely with Tenant and Resident Association representatives, South Lanarkshire Council, local councillor Jean McKeown, the Community Police and the Social Inclusion Partnership. to combat crime and vandalism - both of which have reduced since the initiative began - to improve Community Safety and to create Recreational Facilities for young people.
This complements the introduction of a Caretaking Service in November 2001, jointly funded by Communities Scotland and Link.
Link also has been participating in new ways of allocating houses and may extend a "Choice-Based " lettings policy to Hillhouse should a pilot scheme in its Paisley office prove successful.
