Linkwide Supports Childrens Safety Project

Today at the Dawson Centre in Bainsford, Linkwide Limited handed over a grant cheque for £500 to members of the Safer Langlees and Bainsford (SLAB) group. The cheque, a contribution to SLAB's 2001 "be safe be seen" campaign will enable SLAB to purchase and distribute some 400 reflective safety tabards to children from primary 1 and 2 attending Bainsford, Langlees and St Francis Primary Schools.

Linkwide is part of the Link Group of companies providing housing and related services.

Brenda Higgins, Director of Community Regeneration for Linkwide said, "one of our (Linkwide) strategic aims is to support local efforts to improve community safety. We are therefore very pleased to be able to support this valuable project that will make a positive contribution to children's safety in the Bainsford and Langlees area. We also wish to commend the members of the SLAB group for all the work that they have done on this and other local safety projects".

Formed almost 40 years ago as Link Housing Association, Link Group is one of the most significant Scottish housing providers in the voluntary rented sector. It has a long tradition of working in the Falkirk area. One of its first developments was in Polmont, completed in 1965.

Link is one of a number of partners operating under the Dawson Initiative and is working toward the provision of new housing for rent in the Dawson area.

Linkwide was formed in April 2001 to ensure that the Link Group supports the development and delivery of non-housing, community based projects.
