Falkirk Council’s Leader and Provost officially opened Link Group’s new office in the town’s Callendar Business Park on Monday 23 October 2006.
Cllr David Alexander, Leader, and Provost Jim Johnston unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the opening of Watling House which accommodates many of the activities of Link Group’s subsidiary companies.
Link restructured earlier this year with the aim of delivering its services more effectively. Link Group is now parent company to:
A key service based at Watling House is the Customer Service Centre (CSC), which has enabled Link to improve its responsiveness to its tenants, home owners and shared owners. The administration functions of Link Housing’s area offices in Edinburgh, Falkirk, Cumbernauld and Paisley have relocated to the CSC, offering a more efficient and streamlined service by creating one point of telephone contact for all of its customers and giving Link’s local housing and technical officers more time to spend out and about, engaging with people in the communities Link serves.
Watling House is also the base for the directors and staff teams of Link Housing and Linkwide. Link’s Technical Services and Development functions, which are now part of Link Housing and Linkwide respectively, have relocated from Link’s Edinburgh head office to Watling House.
LinkLiving’s Falkirk-based Housing Support service has moved to Watling House from its former office in Wellside Place, Falkirk.
Craig Sanderson, Chief Executive of Link Group said: “We are keen to continue our commitment to Falkirk, where we have had a strong presence since the early 1960s, and are very pleased that the Leader and Provost of Falkirk Council are supporting us. In addition to maintaining our position in Falkirk, Watling House gives us a very central base between Edinburgh and Glasgow, allowing Link to effectively deliver its services to customers right across the central belt.”
