MSP opens new LinkLiving office

Rhona Brankin MSP officially opened LinkLiving's new office in Mayfield, Dalkeith, yesterday, 20 June.

The office, in the McSence Business Park, is the base for LinkLiving's East and Midlothian service, which has been providing support to vulnerable people in and around Mayfield for more than 20 years.

Rhona Brankin cut the ribbon to officially open the office before spending time chatting to the LinkLiving service users and staff who attended the event.

The East and Midlothian service has grown considerably since it started in 1986 with just four staff members supporting five people from a smaller office in Bogwood Court, Mayfield. Today, 35 support workers provide person-centred support to 47 service users. The service's growth prompted the move to the McSence Business Park.

Louise Richardson, manager of the LinkLiving Midlothian service said: "We were pleased that Rhona Brankin, as MSP for this area, lent us her support and the event went very well. We're looking forward to continuing to develop the East and Midlothian service now we are in a bigger, better office."
