LinkLiving’s Falkirk-based housing support service will hold a party on Saturday 16 September to welcome service users to its new office in Callendar Business Park.
The organisation has recently moved from Wellside Place to Watling House, which it shares with other companies in the Link group.
The party kicks off at noon, with a barbeque, smoothie tasting, outdoor games and a disco. Service users will also have the opportunity to contribute to a video diary of the event.
Invitations have been sent to the 140 young people who use LinkLiving’s service, which offers support and advice mainly to 16 to 25 year-olds with their own tenancy in and around Falkirk.
LinkLiving provides support with all aspects of setting up and sustaining a tenancy, including rent and benefits, decoration and furniture, budget planning, looking after the home and getting on with neighbours. The service helps people plan for the future and make choices about the lifestyle they wish to lead, providing useful advice, information and a listening ear for as long as the person wishes to use it.
LinkLiving’s recently-launched peer education service, Smart Move, recruits and trains young volunteer peer educators who can draw on their own experiences to offer housing information and advice to other young people in the area.
Mary Moncur, Manager of LinkLiving’s Falkirk Service said: “As well as giving us the chance to show our service users our new base, the party will provide a great opportunity for them to meet others who may be in a similar situation to themselves and share experiences in a relaxed environment.
