Link Housing Association (LHA) has opened a new office in Seaward Place, Glasgow today, 4 December 2007.
The office is the base for LHA’s west region team, while housing officers in Link’s six areas of operation in the west of Scotland will continue to work from local offices, maintaining the close link with tenants and their communities. The six local offices are in Catrine, Cumbernauld, Dalmuir, Glasgow, Hamilton and Paisley.
The move is part of Link’s ongoing drive to provide an efficient and responsive service to tenants. Last year, LHA opened its Customer Service Centre in Falkirk to offer a single point of telephone contact and allow housing officers to spend most of their time working in local communities.
LHA Director Maureen Middleton said: ‘’ Our new office base should encourage greater tenant participation in Glasgow and the west because among other things it provides an accessible venue for LHA board meetings. Tenants are in the majority on the LHA Board but those from the west currently have to travel to Edinburgh or Falkirk for meetings. We can now rotate meetings between all three areas. Encouraging greater tenant participation is a key priority for Link in working to deliver a better service.
“Good public transport links to the office will hopefully also encourage visitors to opt for the ‘greener’ transport option of the bus or train. This ties in with our work to reduce our carbon footprint.”
Craig Sanderson, Link Group’s CEO, added’’ Although our primary aims with this relocation are to improve service delivery and enhance tenant involvement, we also see it underpinning our development aspirations in Glasgow.’’
