Link Helps Petersburn & Craigneuk Go Digital as the Jackson Learning Centre Opens for Business

Local people in Petersburn and Craigneuk are set to benefit from a brand new computer learning suite which will offer improved opportunities to learn new things, access the Internet and improve work-related skills through tailored training. The Jackson Learning Centre, which has a fully fitted computer suite with 12 networked PCs, will be officially opened by Karen Whitefield MSP on Friday 3 March.

Based in Jackson Church, the centre can be used by the local community free of charge. It has been set up thanks to a partnership initiative called PC Digital Links, involving Petersburn Craigneuk Community Forum and Jackson Church together with Linkwide, North Lanarkshire Council Stronger Communities and North Lanarkshire Council Community Learning and Development Airdrie South Patch Team.

This exciting initiative brings just over £83,000 of investment to Petersburn and Craigneuk thanks to funding and support from Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire and Communities Scotland.

Brenda Higgins, Director of Regeneration and Development at Linkwide said: “ We are delighted to have helped develop this innovative project and we would like to thank the community and our partners for all their hard work making it happen.”
